These are small works.

Each piece is a 2.5-inch square collage mounted on a wood block and set into a shadow box frame. The dark backgrounds do something unexpected to the botanicals — they isolate each flower, pull it forward, and give it a presence it might not have. Outside, these plants are generous, abundant, and easy to overlook. Against darkness, they become something else. Something worth a longer look.
